Well, this week was filled with more events that were very interesting. On Friday I read to the kindergartners at Shepherd Elementary as a "Royal Reader" and it was so much fun. I got to wear a cape and walk in down a red carpet, and dub each of them on the head and then read them a book. It's a lot harder then it looks to hold the book to the side, while reading, and then show them all this pictures, but it was a lot of fun and they really enjoyed it. Then on Saturday at 5 A.M. my mom and I headed down to Bozeman to meet Megan to go over to Kaispell for the Outdoor show. Five hours later Megan and I made it to Kalispell, we walked around and sat at the Montana Fur Trappers booth, where we learned a lot about trapping and all the different animals they trap, etc. Megan and I also got matching bobcat fur tail key chains! We headed back to Bozeman that night and saw tons of deer. After we filled up in Helena, Megan and I were talking and all of a sudden we see flashing lights. The funny thing though is earlier that day I told my mom that this summer I was going to drive with my hat and crown so if I got pulled over maybe they would be nicer and possibly not give me a ticket. So Megan yells for me to grab her hat, I grabbed the hat and the crown had fallen off so I was digging in the back seat to find it, I finally did and she got in on and situated. The cop then came up to the window and asked for her license, insurance, and registration. She handed him her license and I got out her insurance and registration, but we couldn't find the right year! I swear she had every year from 2000 to 2006 but the cop was nice about it and in the ended up just giving her a ticket, which was no big deal, but it the night so much more interesting since we were getting really tired. We both had a lot of fun though, it was a good bonding experience for the both of us and we also got some auction items for our parties so that was good and we are very thankful for that.
Next for me I will be at the Montana State FFA Convention where I will be competing on my FFA chapters State Sales and Service team. I will also be at the Miss Rodeo Montana booth. I will also be receiving my State FFA Degree this year. To earn this degree you have to be a senior and apply based on your past involvement with the FFA organization. So, I'm pretty excited about that and then we will be heading over to Bozeman for Megan's coronation and I'm sure that will be a good time as well. My mom and I are also getting all the details of my party together and are focusing on that right now, so that everything goes well.
Well I'll write back soon!
Thank You,
Lorissa Harris
